Josie first came to The Root Farm as a volunteer helping in the Freight Farms and doing some administrative input. She was a 12-year employee of Upstate Cerebral Palsy taking care of the day to day Help Desk operations. When she decided to retire she was given an opportunity to work part time at The Root Farm helping out with the administrative work as well as some projects they wanted to do. Prior to UCP Josie was a 31-year employee at what was The Savings Bank of Utica, working in the Help Desk IT operations area. As Josie grew up on a dairy farm a few miles from The Root Farm in Sauquoit, she feels right at home with animals, growing things and understands the beauty of what happens here at The Root Farm.
