We were selected to receive 10 Boilermaker Road Race charity bibs! The charity bib program was created to help local non-profits raise money by giving bibs to runners who commit to raise a minimum of $500 for their selected non-profit. The funds raised by our 2018 charity bib runners will allow us to add 10 fitness stations to our existing hiking trails. We are committed to health and wellness and this fun and unique trail will allow all people of all ages and abilities to acquire physical fitness.

Meet our Runners!

Ryan Clement

I am a full-time stay at home mother to two very active toddlers. Aside from being a stay at home mom, my time is also spent teaching yoga classes at In Bloom Yoga Studio and sharing my passion for art through kid/teen/adult painting classes with BB Designs.

Alexandria Dodge

I am a graduate from Whitesboro High School and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. I am an on-air personality for Kiss FM (97.7/105.5) and I produce the morning show for Talk of the Town (100.7). Growing up, sports were a big part of my childhood and they still are. They’ve taught me the importance of being active, healthy, helping others, and challenging yourself-all of which The Root Farm accomplishes on a daily basis. This is why I decided that The Root Farm would be the perfect organization for me to run for!

Christopher Jones

I am a currently finishing my degree in Therapeutic Recreation and am focused on pursuing my CTRS certification. I enjoy running and have previously run track and field at Utica College. I decided to run with a Charity Bib for The Root Farm to raise money and awareness for the programming currently offered and to help develop more opportunities in the future.

Brittany Keefer

I’m a Cosmetology Teacher at Oneida/Herkimer/Madison BOCES in New Hartford. Alongside my students each year, I volunteer to style hair for the girls at the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Tea Time event. I am honored to be developing a new program at OHM BOCES that will be starting in the fall. This program will allow for students with differing abilities to learn about cosmetology while developing personal care skills. Running for The Root Farm is part of the beginning of this journey for me and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of others!

Elizabeth Lawson

I work in sales at BME Company and we are given the opportunity to work with various local non-profits and the Root Farm was my first choice. I grew up in Holland Patent and I now live in Utica. Although I’ve run the Boilermaker at least 6 times total, this will be my third year running the Boilermaker for The Root Farm. Growing up on a farm, I can’t help but feel an automatic connection with The Root Farm. I look forward to another great year working with this organization!

Danielle Washburn

I love being active and involved in growth with fitness, family and friends. I decided to run for The Root Farm because they provide a great opportunity for fitness and growth with people of all abilities. My nephew has autism and I feel this will be a great place for him to grow and strengthen himself.

Bethany Wendt

I love being fit and active. For as long as I can remember, fitness has been an integral part of my life. It has shaped who I am as a person and continues to do so, today. I love being able to share my passion with those around me.

Upstate Cerebral Palsy helped my child throughout her preschool years with speech and occupational therapy. It means the world to me to be able to run my first Boilermaker for The Root Farm, an affiliate of this incredible organization. The teachers, therapists, and all the staff at Upstate Cerebral Palsy and affiliates, make a difference every day, not only to those with special needs, but also in the lives of their families. This charity bib is a way for me to give back to an organization that gave my family so much.

Kristen Davidson

I am a Spanish teacher at South Lewis Central; I enjoy sharing my passion of the language and culture with my students. Running is a passion for me as it relieves stress and always makes me feel good afterwards. I am constantly striving to beat my previous time or go an extra mile. I am running the Boilermaker for The Root Farm to help raise money for a good cause and to promote the different options of exercise that can be enjoyed outdoors. I cannot wait to complete the rock climbing wall and ropes course at The Farm!
