PROGRAMS

LIVE. LEARN. GROW.

The Root Farm is focused on learning and healing for people of all ages and abilities through agriculture, equine, and recreation programs.

Agriculture

Our agriculture program allows participants to have hands-on learning experiences while providing farm-fresh products to our local community.

Our evolving agriculture center includes traditional and hydroponic farming activities, the production of Root Farm Fresh, our farm to table product line, and our outdoor learning garden, which is currently under development.

Volunteers and students learn how to grow and harvest fruits and vegetables, take care of farm animals, gather, clean, and weigh eggs, bottle honey, maple syrup, and much more.

Equine

Our equine center provides both recreation and therapeutic-focused programs that impact emotional, cognitive, physical, and mental health.

Our instructors, physical, and recreational therapists, along with our outdoor educators provide a variety of programs in our equine center, which is open year round.

Whether you are an experienced rider, have always wanted to take lessons, or simply need extra support to ride, our staff will develop a customized program to fit your riding skill level.  Individual and group equine programs are available to those of all ages and abilities, including toddlers, elders, veterans, and those experiencing physical or mental challenges.

Recreation

Our state of the art outdoor adventure center fosters personal and professional growth for those of all abilities.

Featuring the only accessible high ropes course in New York State, Root Farm Adventures offers recreation activities that are accessible to all, including those with limited use of their lower extremities.

Individuals, groups, and corporate teams, can enjoy a variety of elements that span across our complex, including low and high ropes, climbing walls, a zip line, and much more.

Accessibility

Our facility is a member of the American Hippotherapy Association.  Our staff includes physical and recreational therapists, as well as outdoor educators, who all share a commitment to making our programs accessible to all.  We appreciate learning about your specific needs.  Our staff will make every effort to provide appropriate supports and accommodations to enhance your experience.
