What -- There are Vaulters in the Mohawk Valley??
After the huge USA gold medal victory in Freestyle Team Vaulting at the World Equestrian Games in September, some folks my be happy to know the answer to that question.
Yes!
Root Farm has hosted a vaulting program these past 7 years, and the Farm is delighted that vaulting is FINALLY getting the recognition and appreciation it so deserves.
Team USA’a performance at WEG was set to the music of Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet,” and the vaulters performed a playing-out on horseback of the well-known drama. The performance could not be watched without heart-stopping emotion and breath-taking thrill.
Anyone who watched the vaulting team at WEG must have felt something of “I want to see more of that!” or maybe “I wish I could do that!”
Well they can! At the Root Farm.
Root Farm not only hosts a competitive vaulting team, Root Farm Vaulters, but it offers adaptive, therapeutic, and recreational vaulting for all ages and abilities. Vaulting has been the Farm’s MO since 2003.
The Farm’s vaulting programs are open to all. There are sessions designed for individuals with disabilities, for teens who want to be exposed to a unique and challenging sport, for adults in rehab, and for the very young and the very old, who would like the opportunity to experience or renew a close connection with the horse.
