Adaptive Vaulting
is for everyone --
The Root Farm "handicaps" its vaulters to create a fair playing field.
Our mission is to host and train an integrated team of handicapped and
non-handicapped vaulters who can and will compete in the arena of equestrian vaulting,
locally and nation wide.
The Root Farm welcome vaulters of all ages and abilities!
Adaptive Vautling, in place of more traditional "Therapeutic riding", offers training that for centruies, has been considered in Europe the prerequisite for riding. Adaptive Vaulting teaches balance, centered control, and synchronicity with the horse's movement
Lessons are conducted by a CHA Certified Vaulting Coach. All adaptive lessons are done with the horse being led and sidewalkers.
The Root Farm Vaulting staff is trained and approved by Rick and Virginia Hawthorne, co-founders of Valley View Vaulters in CA, the largest vaulting club in America. The Hawthornes have 25 years of expertise coaching vaulters of all skill levels in compulsories, freestyle, and team vaulting. They have trained an impressive array of national champion vaulters and vaulting teams.Of the 150 vaulters in the Hawthorne club, 1/3 of them have disabilities. The Root Farm intends to cultivate the legacy.
Vaulting is much more than a sport. It's a life changing event!
